World AI Cannes Festival

Did you know that the famous Cannes Film Festival started around 1938 and was a response to people wanting an international film festival other than the Venice (Italy) film festival, run by a fascist regime? I sure didn't!

I thought this sounded especially poignant during a time when a quite different fascist regime seems to think it can invade whatever country it likes. It also serves as a gentle reminder that the world today has ways to influence the behavior of tyrants, even through things as subtle as the arts.

Cannes was originally chosen for it prime location on the French Riviera and its tourist appeal. Hollywood stars of the era (Mae West, Gary Cooper, Cary Grant, etc) arrived on an ocean liner chartered by MGM. Unfortunately, the day after it began, Germany invaded Poland and ushered in WWII. The festival was postponed and eventually cancelled. However, the festival was re-launched in 1946 when 21 countries presented their films.

Fast-forward to 2022 and Cannes, France is once again in the spotlight. The World AI Cannes Festival will launch for the first time this year and will include several "thematic zones" including Sports, Health & Beauty, The Planet, The Arts, and our favorite: Human Resources.

Humaxa will be presenting the research our company was based on at the festival and we'd like to welcome each and every one of you to attend. There are in-person and virtual options.

Let us know if you'd like to attend. We have special tickets and goodies - all you have to do is ask!
